Leadership Long Beach, along with its community partners, are able to provide tuition assistance to applicants accepted to the Institute Class of 2019. The aid varies in amount and source, and in all instances, do not cover the full tuition costs for the program. We believe that Institute members are truly invested in the program and their accomplishments when they have invested their own, personal resources toward their tuition.
ELENA DIANE CURRIS (LLBI ’09)
At the request of the Curris family, these two(2) scholarships are intended for professional women early in their career.
The family of Elena Curris has established a scholarship fund with Leadership Long Beach to support the organization to continue to accept and nurture women professionals in the manner that had been done with Elena. The scholarship is designed for a deserving applicant to help defray some of the Institute tuition costs that would normally hinder participation in the program.
ARTS COUNCIL FOR LONG BEACH
Arts Council for Long Beach provides support for a member of the Long Beach Arts Community to participate in the program.
The Arts Council for Long Beach has a mission to foster creativity and culture, enliven communities and enable a thriving economy. Leadership is needed for these efforts and it is important for the arts community to have a voice when these efforts are made to move our community forward.
LONG BEACH POLICE FOUNDATION
The Long Beach Police Foundation has made funds available to support participation in the program by a Long Beach Police Officer.
The Long Beach Police Foundation (LBPF) proudly supports LB Police Lead/Command officers in the LLB program. The LBPF recognizes the value LLB provides to command officers with the opportunity to learn and interact with community members, building on lasting relationships. The LBPF has supported officers who have advanced in rank and responsibility thereby providing leadership within our police force who are connected to the community.
LLB BOARD OF DIRECTORS
TUITION REDUCTION AWARDS
Tuition Support from the LLB Board of Directors is intended for participants from the nonprofit and small business communities and individuals applying on their own without organizational support.
The LLB Board of Directors will extend limited financial support to LLBI 2018 applicants who need assistance with tuition payment. While the value and benefit of the Institute program is much greater than the tuition cost, the LLB board recognizes that paying the tuition amount may be a financial hardship for some applicants. Through generous support of LLB alumni and community partners, funds have been allocated to reduce the tuition obligation for candidates with need.
