RoboBowl 3

RoboBowl 3

For the third year in a row, Leadership Long Beach has partnered with Long Beach Unified School District to put on a robotics competition for middle school students.  However in 2015, it was the Youth Leadership Long Beach Class of 2015 who were the leading event organizers for the day-long competition.

On Saturday, April 25, the 3rd Annual RoboBowl was held at McBride High School and 140 students representing 15 Long Beach middle schools participated in VEX Robotics style event that had a preliminary and finalist rounds.  During the day, the program provided a fun and competitive environment for middle school students, teachers and families to view the mastery of engineering and technology through robotics.  A parents’ forum on the importance of STEM education and the career opportunities in STEM fields were additional highlights to the day.

The Youth Leadership Long Beach worked the event from beginning to end.  From registering teams, serving as judges, ordering lunches, coordinating exhibitors, passing out event t-shirts, and awarding prizes to the winning teams.
