30 Apr RoboBowl 4
For the fourth consecutive year, Leadership Long Beach partnered with Long Beach Unified School District to facilitate Robobowl IV, a robotics competition for Long Beach middle school students. With the help of many dedicated volunteers, Youth Leadership Long Beach’s Class of 2016 planned and organized the entire event from start to finish.
On Saturday April 30th, Robobowl IV was held at McBride High School. Almost 200 students and their advisors, representing 15 Long Beach middle schools participated in a day full of VEX robotics style competition. The competition consisted of preliminary and finalist rounds, as well as play-by-play commentary and an updated scoreboard. Friends and families of the competitors were given a chance to see the robotics teams and all of their hard work pay off. In addition, a parent’s forum on the importance and relevance of an education in STEM and STEM related opportunities was held.
