11 May Executive Leadership Series 2017 Graduation
The Executive Leadership Class of 2017 completed their six week program with a closing session and graduation at Keesal, Young & Logan on Thursday, May 11. The nine members spent the past six weeks building upon their leadership strengths through sessions held all around the city with presentations by key leaders of the community including Darick Simpson (LLBI ’92), Henry Walker (LLBI ’90), Steve Goodling, Kelly Colopy (ELS ’15), Councilman Al Austin, Councilwoman Suzie Price and Robin Perry (ELS ’16).

The graduation dinner was hosted by Kessal, Young & Logan and LLB Board member Robin Perry introduced the keynote speaker for the evening, Pastor Wayne Chaney of the Antioch Church of Long Beach. Pastor Chaney spoke about the importance of ‘doing something’ with the knowledge, expertise and access gained through the LLB experience and network. The ELS participants then reflected upon their strengths identified from earlier session work and how they understand the strengths as part of their leadership style.
Thanks to LLB Board member Kandice Taylor-Sherwood (ELS ’15) for putting together a dynamic program for these executive leaders and helping the program grow in structure and relevance for today’s leaders. Special thanks also go to Sandy Witz and Lauren Laski for working with Kandice on the curriculum and to Lauren Limbaugh of Millworks for assisting LLB with the logistics with the entire program.
