2022 MLK Day of Service

Peace Garden

#LLBSERVES  #MLKDAY

Finding ways to serve our community, despite these unique times

Join us to make it a “Day On, not a Day Off,” on Saturday, April 23rd  as part of the MLK National Day of Service in Long Beach.

The Need We Serve:

Located at King Park in central Long Beach, the Peace Garden was opened in 2010 and served as a space for the community to come together and breathe new life into the area. In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic made it hard to maintain the upkeep. We hope to breathe life back into this garden for others to enjoy.

How to Serve:

With a team of volunteers, we plan to clear out and clean up the greenhouse, weed in and around the raised beds, and replace the wooden benches in the teaching area of the Martin Luther King Jr Peace Garden.
