Westside Baby Tree Watering Project

Calling all Tree Lovers! Come help baby trees survive by watering them!

Join us to make it a “Day On, not a Day Off,” on Monday, January 16th as part of the MLK National Day of Service in Long Beach.

The Need We Serve:

In November there were over 100 baby trees planted on the Westside. These baby trees need your help to survive. They will provide fresh oxygen for the residents of the Westside, shade, and shelter for neighborhood birds, and beauty in the neighborhood.

 

 

How to Serve:

We need Volunteers to take water to the trees, Volunteers to help fill water bags, and Volunteers to test and record the moisture level of the trees.

Volunteer Details:

What to wear:

Wear comfortable clothing that is okay to get dirt on.

What to bring:

Hat, water bottle and gardening gloves if you have them.

What will be provided:

Water for the trees and all needed tools will be provided.

What to expect:

Snacks will be provided. If you are taking water to the trees please be prepared
to walk a few blocks to the trees and possibly pull a cart with water in it. If you
are helping fill up water bags please be prepared to lift up to 20 lbs. If you are
testing the moisture levels of trees please be prepared to bend over often.
