Additionally, Leadership Long Beach will be hosting a kickoff breakfast at Long Beach City College’s Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus from 8:00am to 9:30am before service projects begin – we hope you can join us!

Kickoff Breakfast Information:
Join us for breakfast and community at our annual kickoff breakfast! Hear from community leaders and connect with fellow activated alumni and community members. All are welcome, and we invite guests to bring non-perishable food items for the Volunteer Center’s food pantry, which supports individuals and families in Long Beach experiencing food insecurity.

Time: 8:00 am to 9:30 am
Volunteers are also encouraged to bring new or used gardening tools to donate to the MLK Park Peace Garden. Their current needs are clippers, rakes, brooms, shovels, hoes/weed pullers, and bulb planters. Donations can be brought to the kickoff breakfast!
This project supports 30 volunteers in a site-wide deep cleaning and organization effort. There may be some furniture assembly depending on deliveries. Volunteers are encouraged to bring brooms, dustpans, mops, gloves, trash bags, and light gardening tools/materials as this is a new site!
This project supports 30 volunteers carefully removing invasive species from thriving native habitats.
This project supports 100 volunteers cleaning up micro and macro debris on the Peninsula.
This project supports 50 volunteers engaging in ground preparation and laying of pavers for pathways and weeding maintenance. Activities may include digging holes and setting of posts for garden signage, placement of wood signage, garden hose storage unit placement, digging and setting, layout and ground preparation for wooden stairs.
